Industry Moves – Appointments at Hermes, SPS, GrayHair and Damco

Some of the latest senior appointments from the mail and express industry, including new directors at Hermes UK, a new CFO at Damco and a new vice president at Swiss Post Solutions, Inc.

Janet Tarzia to drive demand generation at SPS, Inc.

Swiss Post Solutions, Inc., has appointed Janet Tarzia as its new vice president of marketing and communications, and a member of its executive leadership team.

Tarzia has more than 20 years of experience in sales and marketing, spending the last nine years as executive director of marketing at Thomas Industrial Network. Previously she was vice president of marketing at Citibank’s Cash and Trade Unit.

Dan Moscatiello, SPS chief executive North America, said the company was experiencing rapid growth across the United States, but there was still “huge potential” for increasing awareness of outsourcing and digitisation solutions provided by SPS. “The experience that Janet brings to SPS will enable us to drive increased brand recognition and reach the marketplace across North America beyond the 75+ cities we are in today,” he said.

Hermes UK appoints two directors

Gary Winters moves to Hermes UK from Parcelforce Worldwide, where he was business transformation director

Former Parcelforce Worldwide business transformation director Gary Winter has joined parcel delivery company Hermes UK, as its new sales & marketing director.

Winter, who was head of business development at Royal Mail prior to his Parcelforce role, has also previously worked for UK Mail, Pitney Bowes and PFE International. In his new role, he will pursue expansion for Hermes within key markets.

Leeds-based Hermes said it has also appointed Jane Naumkin as its new human resources director. Naumkin has spent the past 14 years in director-level positions for firms including BAE Systems, Rolls Royce, Vernacare and most recently Thermo Fisher.

Carole Woodhead, Hermes UK CEO, said: “These additions to our senior management team are the latest steps to ensure we have the correct people in place to drive the company forward and build on our position as a leader within our industry.”

GrayHair appoints Dylan Purse to management team

US business mail software company GrayHair Software has appointed Dylan Purse as director of solution strategies.

Purse moves to GrayHair from credit rating and information giant Experian, and has more than 13 years of experience in service delivery and list management. New Jersey-based GrayHair said he joins the company’s management team and will help seek new ideas and directions for its product lines, and provide input into how marketers and list processing decisions guide the production process.

The appointment comes shortly after GrayHair appointed two former members of Pitney Bowes’ consulting division to its management team, Jeff Stangle and Adam Collinson. Raymond Chin, the GrayHair vice president of product management and marketing, said: “With the new research and development team and a solid product management team in place, GrayHair will continue to lead in the industry beyond the traditional mailing markets we have serviced in past years.”

Pernille Fabricus appointed CFO of Damco

Forwarding and third party logistics company Damco has appointed Pernille Fabricus as its new global chief financial officer.

Fabricus was previously CFO for TMF Group, which works in financial, legal and HR business process outsourcing in 75 countries. Her career has also included CFO roles at TNS Group, GN Netcom and a senior vice president position at ISS Group.

Damco, part of the AP Moller-Maersk Group, is moving its HQ from Copenhagen to The Hague, and said Pernille joins as it is on a “significant growth trajectory”. “Pernille Fabricus brings a wealth of experience within operations, management and financial monitoring of global service companies,” said Damco CEO Rolf Habben-Jansen.
