DHL opens new Taiwan transhipment centre

DHL has opened a new transhipment centre at CKS Airport’s second cargo terminal, while Federal Express Corp has doubled its capacity at the airport and plans to increase its Taipei flights, the Economic Daily News quoted officials from the two companies as saying.

DHL public relations head Axel Gietz said the company invested about 2.5 mln usd in the new centre.

FedEx has moved its operations to CKS Airport’s second cargo terminal from the first cargo terminal, doubling its operation capacity there, the paper quoted FedEx Taiwan managing director Jimmy Chen as saying.

Chen said the company plans to increase Taipei flights in the future.
