Further funding for Secured Mail

Further funding for Secured Mail

Secured Mail, the fastest growing postal operator in the wholesale mail and packet sector, has recently secured a further £5 million funding from Next Wave Partners, the growth capital investor, to support its expansion plans in 2014. The funding supports the development of a new fully automated mail sorting, distribution and warehouse ‘Super Hub’ in Luton. The new Super Hub, which is already operational and assisted with the peak Christmas period, will enhance the service already provided to customers, which include Amazon, City Link and Debenhams, through faster sortation and increased capacity.

Further investment will also be made in automation and infrastructure over the next few months for improved packet sortation at Secured Mail’s Warrington site, as well as at the Super Hub in Luton. Combined with the scope for expansion at the 75,000 sq ft Luton site, this will allow Secured Mail to capitalise fully on the growth opportunities being presented by the rapidly expanding e-commerce and home shopping markets.

CEO of Secured Mail, Mark Bigley, said: “We are constantly looking for ways to improve and upgrade our service – our customers trust us with their business and their reputations depend on us. The technology and processes that we are introducing at Luton will ensure that we are able to maintain the reliability and supreme quality of our service, whilst successfully growing the business and capitalising on significant e- commerce growth opportunities this sector offers”.
