"No ministry for Poste and France Telecom", says French trade union

The postal and telecoms division of the French trade union FO has expressed concern about the fact that no member of the new French government has put been specifically in charge of the French post office Poste and of French telecoms group France Telecoms.

The union says that La Poste has to face the challenges of deregulation and that France Telecom is having financial difficulties. FO believes that the government, which is the majority shareholder in France Telecom, should have appointed either a minister or a secretary of state for post and telecommunications.
