Geodis wins new IBM contract

Geodis has won a five-year contract to supply IBM with preand post-production logistics solutions for its Dublin plant.
Geodis is constructing a 30,000sq metre warehouse south of Dublin at Dun Laoghaire, due for completion by the end of the year.

Geodis is also in negotations with other Irish shippers over logistics contracts which will also be handled from the new facility, said a spokesman.

Geodis Logistics Ireland, formerly Pan European Transport, will operate the warehouse which will be fitted with an integrated cross-docking platform.

Geodis has provided IBM with logistics services in France, Germany and Italy since 1998, extended to include Spain and Portugal in 1999.
