P&O Nedlloyd forms logistics unit

P&O Nedlloyd has formed a new division, P&O Nedlloyd Logistics, to offer services ranging “from simple customs clearance to complex supply chain solutions including warehousing and distribution.”

With the announcement, the Anglo-Dutch container shipping company becomes the latest in growing number of carriers to emphasize their ability to offer such value added services.

Many other carriers, including Maersk Sealand, APL, NYK and MOL, have been promoting their logistics capabilities in recent years.

P&O Nedlloyd said it had “developed a specialist logistics focus on the retail, fast moving consumer goods, industrial and chemicals market sectors. This commitment will continue to develop and deepen under P&O Nedlloyd Logistics.”
