ECT to launch online mall

Brazil’s postal service ECT expects to launch an online mall dedicated to small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in 2H02, with an 18mn reais (US$6.1mn) investment. ECT awarded a site construction and management contract earlier this year to a consortium of local tech companies TBA Informatica, BOL, UOL, Paradigma and long distance operator Embratel. The mall is expected to host 1,900 SMEs that will benefit from ECT’s technological and logistical infrastructure.
