India Post opens e-commerce centre

India’s Communications and IT Minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad, officially opened India Post’s new e-commerce centre on Monday (11 May). The new centre, based at at Safdarjang, New Delhi, is dedicated exclusively to handling e-commerce parcels.

According to India Post, the centre will be capable of handling up to 30,000 parcels per day.

The Minister told guests at the opening that “e-commerce has got a very good future in India”.
