New distribution centre planned for Bibb County, Georgia?

A package delivery company is planning to open a new distribution centre in south Bibb County, in the southern US state of Georgia, according to local sources. A report filed by on the Macon Telegraph yesterday (4 August) said that an anonymous package delivery company has applied for a conditional-use permit with the Macon-Bibb County Planning & Zoning Commission to build a 248,370-square-foot distribution centre on a 33-acre parcel at 5251 Sardis Church Road.

The site plan submitted with the application features 405 auto parking spaces, 12 tractor parking spaces, 12 dolly parking spaces, 20 long trailer parking spaces and 80 parking spaces for 28-foot trailers.

Officials at the Commission said that they were not at liberty to discuss the project, or name the company which has submitted the application.
