Argos trials “Fast Track” same-day delivery service

Argos trials “Fast Track” same-day delivery service

Argos has revealed that it is now trialling a same-day delivery service for online purchases in selected parts of the UK. The same-day delivery service is running under the Argos “Fast Track” programme.

The service offers three delivery slots per day, 7 days a week for £3.95. For orders placed before midnight, Argo can offer next morning delivery between 7am – 1pm. For orders placed by 1pm, delivery can be arranged on the same day between 2pm and 6pm. For orders placed by 6pm, same night delivery between 7pm and 10pm can be provided.

For now, the service is being trialled in parts of the south east of England, but a nationwide roll-out could be on the cards.

For products that are not available through Fast Track system, Argos offers a standard delivery including next day service which cost £3.95. Deliveries are made from 7am to 8pm Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays) and 7am to 6pm on Saturday. A free Royal Mail delivery option (with a lead time of within 4 working days) is available on selected products.

In addition to new same-day delivery trial, Argos already offers a Fast Track in-store collection service in selected stores for purchases made on line. Sources at Argos told Parcel&Parcel today (19 August) that: “Fast Track collection has been available in our digital stores for some time (the first digital stores opened at the end of 2013). We are trialling a new delivery service in selected stores.”

Fast Track Collection & Fast Track Delivery is only available on items stocked in participating stores. The Fast Track page of the Argos website gives a full list of the participating stores.

Argos CEO John Walden talked about Fast Track Collection and “hub-to-home delivery” when presenting the full year results in April. He also said that the company was looking at “large item express delivery”, so more developments may in the pipeline.
