DHL to give update on plans for Cincinnati Airport hub facility

DHL will be holding a news conference today (21 August) to give more details about its plans for future growth at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG), according to local sources. DHL’s CEO for the Americas, the Airport CEO and the Kentucky Governor are scheduled to speak at the event, according to the Cincinnati public radio station, WVXU.

As previously reported, DHL announced on 28 May that it was investing $108m to expand its CVG hub in order to “meet the demands of continued growth in international e-commerce and global trade”.

The company said that the expansion would provide more gates to accommodate additional aircraft, warehouse space and new equipment to provide more capacity for sorting shipments as well as unloading and reloading planes.

CVG is one of DHL’s three “global hubs”, processing around 46m international shipments annually.
