Postmates extends coverage to Sacramento and Long Beach

On-demand delivery company Postmates has extended its coverage to the Californian cities of Sacramento and Long Beach. The new services went live last week. Delivery fees start at $5 and go up from there, depending on the distance driven. The company also charges a 9% service fee on top of the purchase price of the delivered item.

Postmates says that it will pick and deliver “pretty much anything” from “pretty much anywhere”, but 85% of  its deliveries are prepared food, according to Director of Communications April Conyers.

Postmates was set up in 2011 and now operates in more than 30 US cities.
