Wangusi re-appointed Director General of Kenya’s Communications Authority

Francis W. Wangusi has been re-appointed as the Director General of Kenya’s Communications Authority (CA), the regulatory body which oversees the communications industry as well as postal and courier services. Wangusi’s new four-year term as DG began on Saturday (22 August). He has been the DG of the regulatory body since 2012.  His re-application (and subsequent re-appointment) was necessary because the Kenya Information and Communications Act requires that the post be filled competitively. The Board advertised for candidates for the position in April and re-advertised in May.

Wangusi has over 27 years of experience in the communications industry. Before being appointed as Director General, he had previously served as Director in the CA’s Broadcasting and Licensing Compliance & Standards departments.
