The Warehouse opens click and collect store in Auckland

New Zealand-based retailer The Warehouse has opened a click and collect store in Auckland. The 30 square metre store holds no stock on its shelves – instead operating as a pick-up point for online shoppers.

The Warehouse’s chief digital officer, Craig Jordan, told local media that the company is using the Auckland store to test the concept. If successful, The Warehouse may open other “click and collect” pick-up stores across New Zealand.

The Warehouse’s online sales volumes have leapt up from $18.8m in 2011 to $149.2m in 2015. The company offers a home delivery service and it is already offering a click and collect option in other retail outlets. The Auckland store, however, is the company’s first dedicated click and collect pick-up point.
