Discount supermarket Aldi is set to launch its online store in the UK next year. The company will start by selling wine by the case online from early next year, and then add “special buy” non-food items.

Customers will be offered options for home delivery and collection from third party locations.

Aldi has also reported sales of £6.9bn for the year up to 31 December, up by 31% on the £5.3bn for the previous year. Operating profits, however, fell to £260.3m from £271.4m.
