Posta Kenya looking at “passengers and parcels” bus service

The Postal Corporation of Kenya is looking at the possibility of launching a new bus service that carry both passengers and parcels. According to reports in local media, the new bus service is awaiting approval from the National Transport Service Commission of Kenya before it can be launched.

The buses would carry about 40 passengers, in addition to parcels and mail.

Sources at Posta Kenya confirmed to Post&Parcel today that the idea has been mooted, but stressed that there were no set plans.

A report posted on Kenya’s Daily Nation yesterday (3 November) includes a videoclip in which Kenya’s Postmaster-General Enock Kinara talks about the company’s plans.
