DHL Worldwide plans 'at least' 5m USD investment in Philippines

DHL Worldwide Express Corp will be investing at least 5 mln usd in the country to refurbish its Villamor Airbase gateway facility, DHL Philippines national marketing manager Elisa May Cuevas said.

“(The amount) is very conservative as it would take several millions of dollars to accomplish these major improvement efforts,” she said.

Further investments will follow in the coming years to expand DHL gateway facilities here, with new ones being planned in Cebu and other provinces, she added.

The company also plans to put up additional service centers or distribution points nationwide, Cuevas said.

She said DHL spent 15 mln usd early this year for new delivery vans, new service centers, a country office, and IT infrastructure upgrades.
