Alibaba automating Tmall distribution centre with Streamline system

ALOG, the Guangzhou-based logistics subsidiary of Alibaba, has awarded KNAPP with a contract for the realisation of an automated distribution centre. According to a notice posted on KNAPP’s website, the distribution centre will use its Streamline conveyer system which “decreases walking distances in the warehouse and makes the picking process more efficient”.

The notice added: “The completed orders are sorted automatically with an high-speed sorter. Thereby, up to 6,500 orders per hour – sorted by the respective location – can leave the warehouse.”
