New CEO for DHL Parcel Germany and Europe

Achim Dünnwald has been announced as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of DHL Parcel. Dünnwald, who has been at Deutsche Post DHL Group since 2013, serving as the CEO of Mail Communication, Mail International will remain responsible for the area of Mobility, which comprises the Postbus and Post Reisen business segments.

As CEO of DHL Parcel,  Dünnwald will also serve on the Executive Committee of PeP (Post – eCommerce – Parcel), the board department of Jürgen Gerdes.

 Dünnwald joined the Group after working at the McKinsey consulting firm, where he was a partner, member of the German management and head of the global post, express, parcel industry group.

As part of the Group’s Strategy 2020 the PeP division is currently expanding the parcel business in important major markets in Europe.

This past year saw the successful market entry of DHL Parcel in Austria. For the business in Germany, the focus will be on driving continued quality leadership and innovation. In additional managerial changes Ole Nordhoff, Head of Business Customers at DHL Parcel since 2013, will be responsible for the German parcel business as Executive Vice President and will serve as a member of the DHL Paket GmbH management. He will report directly to Achim Dünnwald.
