Major expansion for Parceline
Following rapid expansion of its customer base over recent years, express parcel carrier Parceline has invested £2.5 million in new depot premises in Glasgow.
The 35,000 square feet, purpose-built depot at Cambuslang Investment Park will serve all collection and delivery routes covering the central belt of Scotland.
Depot manager Andrew Ridgeway, said, “Due to the level of business we are now generating our old depot in Glasgow was bursting at the seams. With our busiest period upon us, all our customers will benefit from this new facility.
The state-of the-art complex boasts 28 electronically operated doors for the efficient loading and unloading of the collection and delivery vans plus five custom-built, self-levelling docking gates for the large linehaul vehicles.
With onsite parking for all vehicles, full fuelling facilities, floodlighting and CCTV this fully landscaped site shows the way forward for other distribution companies.
Parceline CEO Kay Phillips said, “This major investment in Scotland means more growth for our company and more local jobs but the main reason we built this depot was to satisfy our customers’ needs and add high quality to our service offering.
Regional manager Edwin McKechnie, said, “This new investment by Parceline, so closely following the launch of our Chronopost International air express service out of Glasgow airport, reinforces the company’s commitment to serving the Scottish business community.”
