UPS launches cryogenic shipping service in Europe

UPS has announced the launch of the UPS Temperature True Cryo service in Europe. The service, which includes real time tracking and intervention, uses Cryoport’s cryogenic containers. Liquid nitrogen stored in dry vapour form is used to keep products frozen at -150°C for 10 days while in transit or storage.

“When products requiring cryopreservation are on the move, customers want peace of mind that their shipments are safeguarded, so bringing this solution to the Europe market was a logical next step as we continue to expand our logistics services globally for the healthcare and life science industries,” said Jan Denecker, Director of Healthcare Marketing & Strategy, UPS Europe.

“UPS Temperature True Cryo combines innovative packaging, 24/7 monitoring and intervention capabilities for the most critical time- and temperature-sensitive specimens across tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, gene therapy, biopharmaceutical research and reproductive health.”
