Amazon buys stake in Air Transport Services Group

Amazon has bought a 9.99% stake in Air Transport Services Group (ATSG), the company which is now operating an air cargo network to serve Amazon customers in the United States. Amazon revealed that it had purchased 7.1m shares of common ATSG stock in a filing submitted on Friday (18 March) to the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

The commercial agreements between ATSG and Amazon include the leasing of 20 Boeing 767 freighter aircraft to Amazon Fulfillment Services by ATSG’s Cargo Aircraft Management (CAM), the operation of the aircraft by ATSG’s airlines, ABX Air and Air Transport International, and gateway and logistics services provided by ATSG’s LGSTX Services.
