Postcomm Determination Progressing

Business Post announces that its subsidiary, UK Mail Ltd, has received from the Postal Services Commission (“Postcomm”), the independent postal industry regulator, Postcomm’s confidential draft proposal for the trading terms whereunder Royal Mail Group plc would provide access to its facilities for downstream sorting and delivery for UK Mail’s proposed business mail service in the UK.

Postcomm’s confidential draft is subject to, in turn, comments by UK Mail and Royal Mail Group, review of those comments by Postcomm, contract negotiations between the two parties, and a period of public consultation on a final proposal by Postcomm. Postcomm expects to publish its proposed determination for public consultation by, at the earliest, mid- December 2002.
