Swiss Post enables identification by video

Swiss Post has announced that its Video ID check service will allow people to legally verify their identification by video in real time over the Internet. According to Swiss Post, the process is “simple and structured”, and requires only a computer with a webcam and microphone or a smartphone.

And how does it work? “Just make the video connection, hold the front and back of a valid ID up to the camera, have a photo of your face taken, and your identity is verified,” claimed Swiss Post.

Swiss Post said that the system can be “easily integrated” into the existing processes, portals and applications used by companies and authorities.
