US DOT approves FedEx air service to Cuba

The US Department of Transportation has approved FedEx’s application to be the first all-cargo airline to run direct scheduled flights from the US to Cuba. According to sources, FedEx will start running a daily Monday-to-Friday service between Miami and Matanzas from January next year.

The US and Cuban governments agreed to restore direct postal and air services between the two countries in February, after a break of more than 50 years.
