Flying burritos

Project Wing, a unit of Google’s parent Alphabet, is teaming up with Chipotle on a pilot project that involves delivering burritos by drone to students on the campus of Virginia Tech. The tests will be running this month and Project Wing will be using “hybrid” drones which can both fly like a plane and hover like a helicopter.

The tests have been approved by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which introduced its new rules on the use of commercial drones on 29 August.
