Fedex honored at Dubai's first 'Investors in People' certification ceremony

FedEx took part in a pilot assessment for the ‘Investors in People’ certification sponsored by the Department of Economic Development as part of the Dubai Government’s drive for quality.

The assessments were carried out to establish whether FedEx’ operations in the UAE met the ‘Investors in People’ Standard, to test the validity of the Standard within the Emirates and also to benchmark the company’s performance in the UAE against international best practice in Human Resource Management.

The assessors rated FedEx highly, viewing it as an outstanding business with fully evolved working structures which form a natural part of the company’s day-to-day operations. They commented on FedEx UAE’s commitment to quality systems, noting that these stem from senior employees’ personal motivation and dedication to operating at the highest possible standards. The quality of the locally-implemented processes and practices are comparable to the best seen in the organisation. They considered FedEx a forward-looking company where employees are motivated, enthusiastic, flexible and eager to accept any new challenges put to them.

Taarek Hinedi, Managing Director, Middle East Operations for FedEx, commented:

“The ‘Investors in People’ certification is a tribute to every single FedEx employee in the UAE and a recognition that we operate here to the highest international standards. We are extremely pleased with this accolade.”

FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp., connects areas that generate 90 per cent of the world’s gross domestic product in 24-48 hours with door-to-door, customs-cleared service and a money-back guarantee.
