UK Business Post Group swoop for Midland technical courier after acquisition of BXT Ltd

Express delivery specialists Business Post Group hailed a first-class purchase with a swoop for a pounds 4 million turnover Midland technical courier.

Business Post today announced the acquisition of BXT Limited, a Birmingham-based courier operation.

The purchase of BXT provides Business Post with an entry into the technical courier market as an addition to the group’s own expanding courier business, UK Today.

BXT will be developed alongside the group’s other business units and will provide further cross-selling opportunities across its enlarged customer base.

The company operates from head offices in Birmingham, with a further two bases in Warrington and Cambridge, and employs approximately 150 staff, all of whom will be retained.

Thenewarm of Business Post specialises in technical courier services including technical installations, water sam-pling and the hospital/GP sector. In addition, the business operates a specialist technical support service, called BXTech, which provides support for field engineers, in-boot services and a storage/pick and pack facility.

Business Post chief executive Paul Carvell said: ’18 months ago we embarked on a strategy which included possible acquisitions in markets that complemented the group’s services.

‘BXT is a high quality business providing solutions for some wellknown organisations in the IT, utilities and medical sectors. We can now give the company the backing it needs to develop further and introduce BXT services to our customers.’

Nicholas Terry, chairman of BXT said: ‘I am really excited about the future for BXT now that we are part of the Business Post family.

‘Our expertise and experience in the technical courier service sector perfectly complements the existing Business Post portfolio of services.’
