DHL Express partnering with Golden Globe Race sailor

DHL Express has announced a partnership with Susie Goodall, the youngest female participant in the Golden Globe Race – a solo, non-stop round-the-world yacht race. The company will provide logistics support in shipping equipment to Plymouth (the race starting point); transporting materials for Goodall’s promotional engagements around the world prior to the race; and also committing its international network to assist with any contingencies that may arise after the race has started.

The Golden Globe Race will see 30 sailors compete over 30,000 miles. It will recreate the first solo non-stop circumnavigation of the world by Sir Robin Knox-Johnston in 1968/69. The sailors will depart Plymouth in the UK on 30 June, 2018, before sailing non-stop via the five Great Capes and returning to Plymouth at some point in mid-2019. The competitors will all race without modern technology or navigational aids and must use similar boats to those used by Sir Robin Knox-Johnston in the original race.
