DHL UAE launches unique 'Altitude' loyalty programme

DHL UAE, the Emirates’leading air express provider, has launched a unique customer loyalty programme in response to extensive market demand.

Dubai, UAE

Key brands within the Emirates have tied up with DHL’s express Altitude scheme to deliver benefits on airline tickets, shopping as well as leisure activity vouchers.

“What sets Altitude apart is that this is the only, ongoing, long-term loyalty product available locally within the air express industry,” said David Wild, General Manager, DHL UAE. “Altitude is a well-tailored,significant rewards programme which genuinely recognises customer loyalty and adds value to the overall DHL offering. Clients have told us how much a rewards scheme means to them and we have responded”

Altitude builds on the success of an earlier DHL scheme which was highly popular in the mid 1990s.

“The difference this time is that Altitude focuses on our important arcels segment, which currently represents a significant volume of our growing revenue, and, more importantly, it has a much wider redemption offer than previously.”

Altitude, which rewards DHL’s parcel customers, will be rolled out to UAE corporate customers on April 2 and to UAE cash customers on July 1. Regional launches will follow over the coming months.

DHL UAE has established a dedicated call centre to operate ‘Altitude’and a website – www.dhlaltitude.com – has been set up for members to register on-line, and seek redemptions over the Net.

“We are endeavouring to make this system as easy as possible for clients to monitor and to benefit from,” said Wild. “This is in line with our overall strategy of becoming easier to do business with and enhance our customer service.”

Parcel customers will receive Altitude points calculated on a sliding scale in line with the consignment’s destination and weight. Points can be redeemed for DHL service vouchers, partners’ products or can be donated to any one of a number of nominated charities including the Dubai Centre For Special Needs, Medicins Sans Frontieres and the World Wide Fund for Nature.

Altitude launch partners include: Abu Dhabi Mall, Damas, Wild Wadi, Qatar Airways, Arabian Adventures and City Centre with more brands lined up to join in the next few months.

Corporate clients enrolling with ‘Altitude’ can nominate up to three beneficiaries under a single account.
