Exel delivers retail response centre solution to Meadowhall
Exel has announced a contract with Meadowhall, a UK shopping centre, based in Sheffield. Exel’s solution incorporates the provision and operation of a response centre and ensures that Meadowhall can provide the most effective and efficient service for its retail partners. (5/7/2003)
The response centre, known as the ARC at Meadowhall, is located less than 500 metres from the Meadowhall shopping centre in Sheffield, and provides a suite of services that have been developed as a result of extensive work to optimise retail shelf capacity and reduce environmental impact. The Meadowhall facility serves a number of retailers from high street fashion stores and department stores through to footwear retailers and catering outlets.
Speaking about the operation Martin Chisholm, Meadowhall said: “ As a direct result of using this facility, retailers are benefiting from Exel’s logistics expertise and retail industry knowledge. In partnership with Exel we can ensure support with pre-retail activities and definite delivery times. As a result every sq inch of prime retail space can be more effectively utilised and retail staff can concentrate on selling, with the result of realising both cost savings and an uplift in sales. This has been demonstrated by the experience of retailers that have already taken advantage of the service; they have told us that they have seen a 10% increase in sales because they have used the ARC.”
