Estonian Post provides express messenger delivery to Latvia, Lithuania as of May

As of the beginning of May, Eesti Post (Estonian Post) in cooperation with the postal companies of the other Baltic countries launched an express messenger service to private and corporate clients in Latvia and Lithuania.

The service has been available in Estonia for several years already.

“By our Baltic Express service we will enter a new market, delivering parcels from door to door in the Baltic countries. As infrastructure of the service we will be using the distribution networks of the destination countries’ postal administrations,” Estonian Post logistics director Indrek Oolup said.

The deliveries are made from Tallinn to Riga within one day, and from Tallinn to Lithuania and elsewhere in Latvia in two days. From elsewhere in Estonia the deliveries will be made in three days.

Parcels, pallets as well as larger and smaller consignments of goods are accepted for delivery.

According to its development plan, Estonian Post wants to vigorously expand its operations also in the logistics business besides the traditional postal services and to become the best logistic house in Estonia by 2007.
