Hermes showcasing new Mainz logistics centre
Parcel delivery company Hermes will be officially opening its new logistics centre in Mainz on 27 September. As part of the opening ceremonies, Dirk Rahn, Chief Operating Officer of Hermes Germany, will give a presentation on Urban Logistics.
Hermes said that the Mainz facility is part of a comprehensive expansion strategy to introduce more logistics centres in Germany by 2019.
On 18 August, meanwhile, the UK arm of Hermes officially opened its new “Midlands Super Hub” in Rugby. This facility will have capacity to handle more than a million parcels a day – and this could be boosted by half a million with the introduction of a third sortation tier.
