Russia’s DIXY Group agrees parcel locker deal with OZON
Russian retail chain DIXY has agreed a new partnership with the online retailer OZON.ru which will see OZON Box parcel terminals installed in DIXY stores “in the nearest future”.
In a statement issued on Friday (23 November), DIXY said that the first OZON Box parcel terminals will be installed in DIXY neighborhood stores in Moscow and the roll-out will later extend to other regions.
DIXY said: “Until the year end, order pickup devices are planned to be installed at 120 DIXY stores in Moscow and its vicinity. Next year, DIXY stores in other presence regions are planned to host approximately 400 OZON Box terminals.”
The OZON deal will not be an exclusive. In October, DIXY announced a similar agreement with TelePort. By the end of the year, TelePort plans to install approximately 200 terminals in DIXY stores located in Saint Petersburg, Moscow, and the Moscow Region.
DIXY Group Business Development Director Eugeny Malkov commented: “We sublease our premises to companies developing such popular services as OZON.ru – and supplementing our product offer with a set of relevant services – on a priority basis. It is important for us to provide DIXY customers with an opportunity not only to buy all they need at our stores, but to use an expanded service offer as well. Such approach boosts sales and facilitates growth of extra traffic in chain stores.”
