Gett Delivery appoints Head of UK Delivery

Gett Delivery, the on-demand delivery service from the app Gett, has appointed Malte Poppensieker, former Senior Manager of AmazonFresh, as its Head of UK Delivery.

Poppensieker’s responsibilities will include putting in place the correct processes ahead of the future rollout of the on-demand courier service into additional London zones and cities in the UK, where Gett’s taxi hailing business is already in operation.

As previously reported by Post&Parcel, the Gett Delivery service first launched in London’s Zones 1 and 2 in February 2016 and the company announced its expansion into Zone 3 in October.

During his time at AmazonFresh, Poppensieker was responsible for looking after the Corporate Operations team, leading the official launch across the UK and four other EU countries.

Matteo De Renzi, UK CEO of Gett, said: “We are delighted to welcome Malte to the Gett Delivery team. His previous experience at AmazonFresh is particularly relevant for Gett Delivery at this point in time as the company looks to expand its services to other locations in the UK.”

“In addition, same-day delivery is a specialised area, so we wanted to be confident that our new hire would be aware of the unique challenges it presents, and how best to tackle these. Having rolled out a similar service for Amazon, we are assured that Malte will bring the relevant knowledge to make Gett’s offering a huge success.”
