Parceline to strengthen nationwide next-day delivery service
Parceline will initially run the business from the 30,000 square feet premises it has taken over on a short-term lease at Quedgeley Enterprise Centre.
The operation will strengthen Parceline’s nationwide next- day delivery service and will be supported by a fleet of 22 new vans.
The carrier will use the Gloucester base to collect and deliver parcels to businesses in Cheltenham, Hereford, Ross- on-Wye and Weston- super-Mare.
Parceline chief operating officer Kay Phillips said: “In the highly competitive parcel delivery business, customer satisfaction relies on an extensive depot network.
“It is part of our customer focus strategy to develop our operational infrastructure to match increasing customer growth.”
And the Gloucester depot manager Emma Deacon said: “This major investment not only means more local jobs, it also reinforces our commitment to serve the local business community in Gloucester.”
The expansion is yet another example of the growing importance of Quedgeley to businesses, especially because of its easy links to the M5.
It is now home to the £3.6 million Tri-Services 999 nerve centre.
Parceline has a UK network of 38 depots with a “Superhub” in Birmingham.
The company has 5,500 customers, 1,500 vehicles and 3,000 employees.
