GLS publishes sustainability report

General Logistics Systems (GLS) has published its latest sustainability report.

In his introduction to the report, Rico Back, CEO of the GLS Group, said the company was focused on implementing corporate responsibility in all activities of its business and reporting openly about its progress.

The report, entitled “ThinkGLS. ThinkResponsible”, flagged up some of the initiatives the company has undertaken to minimise the environmental impact of its parcel delivery operation – with a particular focus on city logistics. GLS is, for example, now running “micro depots” in some cities, with electrically powered vans and bikes making the final mile deliveries.
