Swiss Post installs 100th My Post 24 terminal

Swiss Post has announced that it put its 100th My Post 24 parcel terminal into service this month – and it is now aiming to hit the 200-terminal milestone by 2020.

The 100th terminal was installed in Berne-Bümpliz on 9 March. With its 172 compartments, it is the biggest parcel terminal in Switzerland to date.  Swiss Post installed the first My Post 24 terminal at the end of 2013.

All 100 installed My Post 24 terminals are KePol systems from the Austrian automation specialist KEBA.

In a statement issued today (22 March), Swiss Post said: “By 2020, an additional 100 terminals will be installed throughout Switzerland. Moreover, terminals which have seen little use will be moved to busier locations.”

Thomas Baur, Head of PostalNetwork and Member of Executive Management at Swiss Post, commented: “We’ve analysed the My Post 24 terminal situation and have found that our customers closest to Swiss Post branches benefit most from this service.”

Swiss Post said that the terminals are proving popular with online shoppers and “usage figures are continuing to rise”.
