Rhenus announces new Turkish logistics partnership

Rhenus Logistics UK has announced a new partnership with Turkey’s Solmaz Logistics Services.

Solmaz employs more than 1600 personnel at 60 facilities in 16 cities nationwide. To facilitate smooth passage through the complexities of the Turkish customs process, Solmaz has established a comprehensive network of 200 customs specialists – operating from both border posts and inland custom houses.

With four decades of experience in the region, Rhenus Logistics has long been associated with UK-Turkish routes.

In a statement sent to Post&Parcel today (2 May), Rhenus said that the expansion in the Middle East coincides with ongoing growth for the business across Europe and North America, including new facilities in Italy, Scandinavia and the Baltics.

David Williams, managing director of Rhenus Logistics UK, commented: “The new partnership with Solmaz Logistics Services is an exciting step for both businesses. It is a real signal of Rhenus’ intent to further its presence in the region.

“Boasting the fastest growing economy in Europe, Turkey has enjoyed strong and sustained growth over the past decade – something which seems set to continue up to and beyond 2023, as the country celebrates its centenary with significant investment in its infrastructure. Our new partnership with Solmaz is exciting news not only for Rhenus, but also for our existing and prospective client base – who will benefit from our joint expertise of trading and freight forwarding in Turkey.”
