Swiss Post now represented in Sweden by franchisee

Swiss Post International – the international business unit of Swiss Post – has granted a franchise licence to “Mail & Logistics Sweden AB”, one of Sweden’s biggest independent providers of international mailings. SPI has also been cooperating with franchisees in Spain since spring 2002 and in Asia since last summer. Franchisees enable SPI to expand in countries offering a substantial market potential. In turn, the franchisees benefit from Swiss Post’s excellent worldwide reputation as a reliable and quality-focused provider of cross-border mail services.

Swiss Post International – the international business unit of Swiss Post – has granted a franchise licence to Stockholm-based “Mail & Logistics Sweden AB”, which was founded in 1999. “Mail & Logistics Sweden AB” is an independent Swedish provider of international mailings and has a workforce of 15. The company is headquartered in Stockholm and operates a sales unit in Gothenburg.

Swiss Post International (SPI) currently maintains offices in all of Switzerland’s most important markets, enabling it to offer mailing solutions geared to the specific needs of its increasingly internationally-focused business customers. By cooperating with franchisees, SPI can underpin its strong position in Europe and open up important markets without having to develop an infrastructure of its own. At the same time, SPI benefits from the strengths and local experience of the franchisees.

SPI’s franchising system
The franchisees of SPI operate under the “Swiss Post” brand, thus benefiting from Swiss Post’s international reputation for quality and from its know-how, networks, information technology and logistics channels. In addition, they offer the same range of products as SPI:
international dispatch of business items and bulk mailings (business and marketing mail), and solutions for the worldwide dispatch of newspapers and magazines.

Good progress in Spain – and a bridge to Latin America SPI’s first franchising partnership – with the Spanish provider “ABC Mail” – is proving to be a success. With its headquarter in Madrid and a branch in Barcelona, SPI Spain achieved an ideal strategic position in the Spanish postal market in 2002. SPI Spain has a workforce of 17 and serves global players such as publishers, export companies, lettershops, advertising agencies and associations. Thanks to the partnership, SPI’s customers benefit from a firstclass mailing network that links Spain with the rest of the world and creates a bridge to Latin America. A new customer gateway to Asian markets Last year SPI set up its first Asian branch to serve Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia. SPI Singapore has established itself as the headquarters, with a staff of around 20. Besides worldwide shipment options to and from Asia, solutions are also offered for dispatch to Asia in particular: Working together with local distribution partners, the SPI franchisees in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong now offers customers in Switzerland, Europe and the USA new delivery options for magazines, newspapers, books and direct mailings to Asia.
