Russia Postal Services’ revenues seen up 15%-20% in 2003

The revenues from Russia’s postal services rose 15%-20% on the year to 30 billion rubles in 2003 according to preliminary data, the general director of the state-owned Russian Post company Igor Syrtsov told reporters.

Currently, Russian Post operates in 25 out of Russia’s 89 regions, while in other regions there are regional post service departments, which are expected to join Russian Post by the second quarter of this year, he said.

By the end of the year, Russian Post plans to connect about 10,000 post offices to high-speed data communication channels, he said.
