FedEx to handle international distribution for Avnet

Avnet Inc. has chosen FedEx to handle the bulk of its domestic and international shipments of electronic components, embedded systems and computing products to Avnet’s industrial customers in 68 countries.

FedEx Express will handle domestic and international express deliveries, while FedEx Ground will handle domestic ground deliveries.

Avnet will use FedEx’s ship manager server, an automated, high-speed shipping solution designed to help streamline business processes, manage costs and effectively manage customer relationships.

Phoenix-based Avnet distributes products for manufacturers such as IBM, Motorola, Intel, Microsoft, Texas Instruments, Hewlett-Packard and National Semiconductor. Its distribution centers are located in Phoenix and

Chandler, Ariz.; Singapore; and Germany.
