UK NCN Express appoints Danny Mills

Parcel carrier NCN Express has appointed Danny Mills as operations manager. Mills will be responsible for the carrier’s night sort operation, scanning processes, and pick and pack operation. He will also be responsible for developing a new part-automated materials handling systems. Mills was previously hub manager at Hellmanns and Nightfreight. Richard Couch has been appointed operations director at Innov@te Logistics’ Chesterfield and Nottingham sites. Couch has been with the company for eight years and has worked his way up from the shop floor at its Scunthorpe headquarters. Mike Ellithorn has been selected as managing director of Clean Air Power UK, the dual-fuel technology specialist. Ellithorn has more than 25 years’ experience in the industry, holding a variety of management, operational, and vehicle sales and service positions with Volvo Truck & Bus, Refrigerated Vehicle Sales and Scania GB. Mick Kane joins refrigerated bodybuilder GRP Westbury as sales director. Kane will focus on developing the firm’s core business of manufacturing refrigerated box bodies. Kane joined from tail-lift manufacturer BAR Cargolift where he was national business development manager. He also spent time at Carrier Transicold as national business development manager. BMC (UK) has chosen Phil Stratton as its new managing director. Stratton was network sales director at ERF in the mid and late nineties and also spent 20 years with NFC and Exel in senior management positions. He has been with BMC (UK) for the last two years as commercial director. Stratton replaces current managing director Vic Wright who moves to newly-appointed dealers Parkmount.
