Isle of Man Post Office: still delivering island-wide

Isle of Man Post Office is assuring customers that it is still continuing to deliver Island-wide, ensuring guidance is adhered to when it comes to good hygiene and social distancing in protecting its people and customers.

The postal operator has stated on its website: “During the outbreak of Covid-19 on the Island, postal workers are classified as key workers so the Post Office wants customers to know it is here for you, delivering the service you are used to as much as it can in a safe environment for all.

“IOMPO wish to remind customers that is has introduced some changes to the way packets and parcels are delivered. Your post person will pop the item on your doorstep, ring the bell or knock on the door and step back to the recommended two metre distance. If you are in, they will ask for your name and input that information into their hand held device. If you’re not in, they will find a Safe Place to leave your item and if there is nowhere safe to leave your item, they will leave a card informing you of the attempted delivery with information of how you can arrange a Redelivery. Alternatively, IOMPO’s free SafePlace service and Authority to Sign services provide even greater convenience to customers. ”

Simon Kneen, Chief Executive of IOMPO commented: “We remain as committed as ever to our valued customers and are doing all we can to ensure minimum disruption to service, while ensuring the safety and health of our people. This is our prime consideration and we are monitoring the changing situation daily with our business continuity plan in full operation. We are ensuring our workforce are abiding to the latest advice from the World Health Organisation and Public Health to help prevent the spread of infection, and seek to support them at every turn of this immensely challenging time for our Island. I wish to express my gratitude to them for their sterling efforts so far.”
