GeoPost expands to Bulgaria
GeoPost continues expanding across the Balkans and into the new EU countries. Today, GeoPost Bulgaria Ltd, a new joint venture between GeoPost Yurtiçi Kargo and City Express Ltd, joins the continuously growing GeoPost network. GeoPost Bulgaria Ltd will be based in Sofia and offer international air express, air road and deferred road services under Geopost’s Chronopost and DPD brands. The first outbound shipments are planned from November 2004.
GeoPost Yurtiçi Kargo owns a 51 percent share in the new Bulgarian joint venture with the other 49 percent being held by City Express. City Express Ltd is the Bulgarian market leader in express courier services. GeoPost Yurtiçi Kargo, based in Istanbul, is the joint venture established in 2003 between GeoPost and the Turkish market leader in parcel and express services Yurtiçi Kargo. GeoPost and Yurtiçi Kargo have joined forces for activities and development projects in Turkey as well as in Russia, neighbouring countries, Central Asia and the Middle East.
