Parcel locker network to be rolled out in Israel

ORIAN – part of the DB Schenker network – will install the first phase of a nationwide parcel locker network in Israel. The lnfinity lockers from SwipBox are battery driven and operated by Bluetooth via  an app.

The first parcel lockers will be installed at the start of 2022 in selected cities in Israel. To start with around 100 lockers will be installed and will be used to gain feedback for the next stage of the rollout when the network will be opened for logistics providers other than DB Schenker.

ORIAN operates as a logistics partner for several logistics companies in Israel and owns and operates the network of SwipBox Infinity parcel lockers in Israel.

Itamar Lamdan, Businesss Development Manager at ORIAN says: “With the SwipBox Infinity lockers we are going to offer a user friendly and innovative service to serve online shoppers in Israel as well as all carriers operating in the Israeli market. E-commerce is booming, and with this new generation of parcel lockers we can get closer to where people live and work and thereby meet the increasing demand for last mile delivery options from the market.”

The parcel lockers will be located at housing associations, gas stations, shopping malls etc.

Mark Yeoman, Commercial Development Manager at SwipBox, says: “Our partnership with ORIAN shows the strong demand for the SwipBox Infinity solution in the market. With thousands of Infinity lockers in Europe, we now continue our expansion outside Europe, which is the natural next step for us. We are happy that this step is being taken with an innovative partner like Orian.”

Danish company SwipBox is the developer behind the app-operated parcel lockers that run on batteries, making the lockers easy and fast to install as there is no need for an external electricity source or an instant internet connection.
