Red je Pakketje to become Instabox

Red je Pakketje is to change its name to Instabox in January 2022 – combining services under one brand in the Netherlands. The name changemarks the last step in the integration after Instabox’s acquisition of Red je Pakketje earlier this year.

“This is a logical step. We look forward to keep providing our excellent service and making Instabox a household name for merchants and shoppers across the Netherlands and the broader Benelux union,” says Sam Rohn, General Manager of Instabox Benelux.

In May, Swedish Logtech company Instabox acquired Red je Pakketje, the market leader in same-day home deliveries in the Netherlands. The collaboration has since been highly successful, with Red je Pakketje growing with more merchants and Instabox using its expertise within smart automated parcel lockers to increase its footprint in the Netherlands. The name change in January marks the last step in the integration and will now offer all services under the Instabox brand.

“Both companies have a lot of shared values. We put the customer first and base our decisions on that principle. We also share a common view on the importance of sustainability, both socially and environmentally. Now that the technical hurdles have been cleared, we are ready for full integration, and we look forward to doing that under the Instabox brand,” says Sam Rohn.

Instabox offers something new to the market, combining the expertise of Red je Pakketje in home deliveries with the extensive knowledge within delivery through parcel lockers, which Instabox brings. Delivery to lockers is a general trend throughout Europe, but the Netherlands has some catching up to do. Instabox is therefore placing at least 4,000 parcel lockers in the Netherlands over the next two years. In this way, the parcel delivery company wants to expand its service quickly, whether the user chooses home delivery or delivery to a parcel locker.

“Offering consumer choice will be crucial for any modern merchant in the future. We believe that both home deliveries and lockers will have their place in the mix going forward. Still, as shoppers get increasingly savvy, we think they will demand increased flexibility, and with us, consumers can also easily change between our services throughout the parcel journey. We are glad to be able to offer the best of both worlds under one brand,” says Sam Rohn.

Fossil-free delivery

Wherever possible, Instabox delivers the parcels in the Benelux using electric cars. All parcels are however delivered fossil-free, either via EVs or by trucks fueled by the fossil-free HVO100. The parcel delivery company also compensates 110% of its emissions. By the end of 2022, Instabox wants all parcels to be delivered via electric cars charged with green energy.
