Poczta Polska ” driving the digital correspondence revolution”
With more than 2.6 million mailboxes already created, Poczta Polska is rapidly advancing its digital transformation, and the growing popularity of e-Registered Mail is clearly accelerating the shift away from paper correspondence.
In total, over 2.6 million active accounts are now being used to handle digital registered mail, including a record-breaking 300,000 new e-Polecony mailboxes opened in just the first two weeks of the new year.
E-Registered Mail is the digital equivalent of traditional registered mail—fast, secure, and convenient. Users receive confirmation of both sending and delivery, and are notified of new correspondence by email.
Under the Act of 18 November 2020 on electronic deliveries (Journal of Laws 2026.3, as amended), as of 1 January digital communication has become the primary channel for correspondence between public administration, citizens, and businesses. Digital registered mail plays a central role in this transformation.
Poczta Polska is driving the digital correspondence revolution
Poczta Polska is developing e-Registered Mail as a modern service within the national e-Delivery system, which it operates. The solution enables secure, confirmed communication between public institutions, businesses, and citizens—either fully digitally or in a hybrid format if the recipient does not yet have a digital mailbox.
In addition, Poczta Polska offers a commercial e-Registered Mail service for communication between private individuals and companies. This service is available via the ePoczta-Polska.pl platform, where customers can also access other digital solutions such as qualified electronic signatures, digital seals, and SSL certificates.
“The scale of the launch of digital mailboxes, which are equivalent to traditional registered mail, demonstrates our readiness for mass adoption of this solution. The solution for sending e-Registered mail operates effectively and reliably, ensuring complete correspondence security and the ability to track delivery status. Ultimately, the system is expected to support up to 20 million users. It is also a real foundation for modern communication between the state and citizens and businesses. I encourage everyone to set up ADEs, or Electronic Delivery Addresses, and use digital registered mail ,” says Sebastian Mikosz, President of Poczta Polska.
Rapid growth in digital correspondence
Since the service was launched, more than 2.6 million e-Polecony mailboxes have been created, including over 1 million belonging to individual citizens. Since the beginning of 2026 alone, the number of accounts has increased by 300,000 in just two weeks.
So far, 49.5 million items of correspondence have been sent through the system, including the e-Polecony service. Of these, 16.8 million were delivered entirely digitally, while 32.7 million were sent in hybrid form to recipients who do not yet have a digital mailbox. In such cases, Poczta Polska prints the correspondence in secure facilities and delivers it traditionally.
” The first two weeks of January brought a noticeable acceleration. The number of digital parcels is several percent higher than in the best days of last year and even twice as high as the daily average in 2025. For example, on January 8th, over 362,000 parcels were shipped, compared to a daily average of 175,000 in 2025, ” says Kinga Dobrzyń, director of the Polish Post’s Office of Analysis and Digitization of Processes.
