Poczta Polska strengthens its cash logistics
Poczta Polska is investing in logistics and cash handling through a comprehensive fleet modernisation program. One element of this program is the acquisition of 230 cash-in-transit vehicles supplied by MAN.
MAN is supplying the base vehicles, while its consortium partner Interplay is responsible for the specialized bodywork, including armor and equipment in accordance with the regulation of the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration of September 7, 2010. This is an investment of strategic importance, reflecting the scale of the Company’s operations in the field of cash logistics.
” Cash remains a crucial element of economic activity. Our role is to ensure its safe, efficient, and scalable handling. We are also investing in process digitization, fleet development, and operational infrastructure. The commissioning of cash vehicles is an important step in the modernization of our cash transport fleet. We are implementing solutions that improve security, operational efficiency, and the work comfort of our teams,” emphasizes Sławomir Żurawski, Vice President of the Management Board of Poczta Polska for Operations.
Higher efficiency and security levels
New armored vehicles vary in security level and intended use. Type A vehicles provide the highest level of protection and are used for transporting the largest amounts of valuables. Type B vehicles offer high security standards with great operational flexibility, while Type C armored vehicles, equipped with cash neutralization systems, are suitable for a variety of transport conditions.
The Post Office currently has nearly 400 cash-in-transit vehicles, which will be gradually replaced by modern vehicles with higher standards of safety, capacity, and efficiency. A key advantage of the new fleet is the increased vehicle capacity, which allows for the optimization of the number of journeys, streamlining route planning, and increasing the efficiency of convoy teams. This represents a real improvement in operational efficiency and the quality of customer service.
“The handover of the first four MAN TGE vehicles to Poczta Polska marks the beginning of one of the largest specialized delivery vehicle projects in the history of MAN Truck & Bus Polska. In close cooperation with our partner, Inter Play, we are delivering a solution precisely tailored to the demanding needs of the safe transport of valuables for Poczta Polska – one of the leaders in the Polish market. The vehicles combine cutting-edge technologies, advanced safety and security systems, and the highest standards of workmanship, ensuring maximum reliability in everyday operation. We are very proud that these fully integrated vehicles are manufactured in Poland,” said Claus Wallenstein, Managing Director of MAN Truck & Bus Polska.
Comprehensive modernization of cash logistics
Investments also include infrastructure and technology. Poczta Polska is currently conducting the largest cash logistics development program in its history. In addition to fleet replacement, it includes modernizing sorting facilities, replacing cash sorters, and implementing an IT system for comprehensive process management.
The modern IT system, currently being implemented, will become the central tool for managing cash logistics. The solution will encompass all key operational processes – from customer order acceptance, through cash transport and sorting operations, to settlements and reporting. The system will replace existing fragmented solutions and paper-based processes, improving operational efficiency, transparency, and security.
The combination of investments in a modern IT system, fleet, and infrastructure creates a coherent development direction – digitization, increased efficiency, and strengthened operational competences. Poczta Polska is consistently building its position as one of the key cash logistics operators in Poland, responding to the real needs of the market and citizens.
Poczta Polska provides cash logistics services for both its own needs and for external clients. Nearly 200,000 cash shipments are completed monthly, and the company processes approximately PLN 150 billion annually. Thanks to its nationwide reach, 31 cash handling centers, and a team of approximately 2,500 employees in the Cash Security and Logistics Department, Poczta Polska ensures the continuity and security of financial services nationwide.
