Maersk wins transport and logistics 'Oscars'
Maersk Line has won the Shipping Line of the Year 2007 award, beating five other prominent hopefuls to take the honor.
The achievement was awarded by International Freighting Weekly magazine, where judgment by 200 freight forwarding and shipping executives saw the company excelling above the rest.
This award demonstrates the industry recognition of Maersk Line’s continuous efforts to develop and improve their services to exceed customer expectations, the company says.
In line with customer needs and their continuous effort to develop their services, Maersk Line this year announced the new and improved Asia – Southern Africa network, which is represented by the Safari 1 and 2 services.
Maersk Line’s restructured Safari services feature enhanced port coverage and shorter transit times.
The principal benefits of the revised Safari services will be two weekly calls in Greater China, with both the main and second string Safari services offering direct calls.
Increased capacity in key corridors, the inclusion of a direct port of call at Ningbo, China included on Safari 1 and faster vessels deployed, all resulting in market leading transit times. With a vision of creating opportunities through global commerce, Maersk Line offers customers door-to-door container shipping all over the world.
